What is REIKI?

Reiki is one of the many forms of ancient energy healing.  It originated in Japan in the early 20th century and earlier but was not documented.  Reiki manipulates energy flow in the body. There is an unseen life force energy flowing through our bodies. Rei meaning universal and Ki meaning life force energy.  In a typical reiki session the client is usually lying but can be seated in a chair.  The practitioner gently moves his/her hands just above or directly on the clients fully clothed body in various places holding each hand placement for 3-5 minutes.  The intention is to reduce stress and promote healing and better overall well being by encouraging a healthy flow of energy. There are no negative side effects of reiki and reiki can not be used for negative.
